The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when handling 401 HTTP responses. This can be be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via a specially crafted 401 response that contains a WWW-Authenticate header with the "Realm" field consisting of more than 351 characters. Successful exploitation requires that the user uses AppScan to scan a malicious web server. The vulnerability has been reported in version 5.0.134, and 5.0.609 Subscription 7 SOLUTION: The vulnerability has reportedly been fixed in Subscription 8.
