TITLE: Asus VideoSecurity Online Two Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA17419 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/17419/ CRITICAL: Moderately critical IMPACT: Unknown, Exposure of sensitive information WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: Asus VideoSecurity Online 3.x http://secunia.com/product/6043/ DESCRIPTION: Luigi Auriemma has reported two vulnerabilities in Asus VideoSecurity Online, where one has an unknown impact, and the other can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information. 1) A boundary error in the authorisation handling can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by sending a specially crafted request to the web server. Successful exploitation requires that authorisation is enabled and that the built-in web server has been enabled (not enabled by default). 2) An input validation error in the request handling can be exploited to disclose the content of arbitrary files via directory traversal attacks. Successful exploitation requires that the built-in web server has been enabled (not enabled by default). The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 3.5.0.0 and prior. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Disable the built-in web server.
