The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the handling of the non-standard "LEAK" FTP command used for debugging purposes. This can be exploited to cause a vulnerable service to run out of file handlers and potentially crash. Successful exploitation does not require authentication. The vulnerability has been reported in versions 2.2m1 and 2.2k3. Prior versions may also be affected.
