The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when handling messages supplied by clients. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by supplying an overly long message via e.g. the "say" and "tell" commands. Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code on the game server. The vulnerability has been reported in versions 1.011 and prior. SOLUTION: Grant only trusted clients access to games on affected systems.
