Nature of the problem /usr/bin/X11/xwcreate is a program used to create X windows and devices files for raw-mode Starbase applications to display into. This program invokes /usr/bin/X11/gwind which creates the device file. It is possible that existing files not owned by the user may be removed by using this software. B. Fixing the problem Install the patch appropriate for your system as listed in Section C.1. below. C. How to Install the Patch (for HP-UX 8.x and 9.x) 1. Determine which patch is appropriate for your hardware platform and operating system: PHSS_4832 (series 700/800, HP-UX 9.x), or PHSS_4834 (series 700 , HP-UX 8.x), or PHSS_4835 (series 800 , HP-UX 8.x), or PHSS_4833 (series 300/400, HP-UX 9.x), or PHSS_4836 (series 300/400, HP-UX 8.x) 2.
