Servers running the latest version of ProFTPD (1.2.0pre1) or the latest version of Wuarchive ftpd (2.4.2-academ[BETA-18]) are vulnerable to buffer overflows. This vulnerability can be exploited by remote users to gain root access on the server. CERT-NL advices you to act on this information as soon as possible.
