M.vr.gr. In CERT Coordination Center Vendor-Initiated Bulletin VB-97.07 , SGI reports vulnerabilities in several programs provided with the Outbox Environment subsystem, namely the cgi-bin programs webdist.cgi, handler and wrap available for IRIX 5.x and 6.x. Each of these programs can be manipulated to execute arbitrary commands with httpd privileges. This advisory provides temporary workarounds, like those provided in the preceding AUSCERT/CERT advisories (CERT-NL S-97-31) but for a wider range of programs. CERT-NL recommends immediately implementing either workaround. All CERT Coordination Center advisories and bulletins are mirrored by CERT-NL. The specific URL for this case is: More information about the CERT-NL mirror and notifier services is contained in News items N-95-01 (notifier) and N-95-02 (CERT mirror), both present on ============================================================================== CERT-NL is the Computer Emergency Response Team for SURFnet customers.
