Background ========== GnuTLS is an Open Source implementation of the TLS and SSL protocols. Affected packages ================= ------------------------------------------------------------------- Package / Vulnerable / Unaffected ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 net-libs/gnutls < 3.6.15 >= 3.6.15 Description =========== It was found that GnuTLS didn't handle "no_renegotiation" alert properly. Impact ====== A remote attacker could entice a user to connect to a malicious TLS endpoint using an application linked against GnuTLS, possibly resulting in a Denial of Service condition. Workaround ========== There is no known workaround at this time. Resolution ========== All GnuTLS users should upgrade to the latest version: # emerge --sync # emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose ">=net-libs/gnutls-3.6.15" References ========== [ 1 ] CVE-2020-24659 https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2020-24659 Availability ============ This GLSA and any updates to it are available for viewing at the Gentoo Security Website: https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202009-01 Concerns? ========= Security is a primary focus of Gentoo Linux and ensuring the confidentiality and security of our users' machines is of utmost importance to us.
