-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 _______________________________________________________________________ Mandriva Linux Security Advisory MDVSA-2015:017-1 http://www.mandriva.com/en/support/security/ _______________________________________________________________________ Package : libevent Date : March 29, 2015 Affected: Business Server 2.0 _______________________________________________________________________ Problem Description: Updated libevent packages fix security vulnerability: Andrew Bartlett of Catalyst reported a defect affecting certain applications using the Libevent evbuffer API. This defect leaves applications which pass insanely large inputs to evbuffers open to a possible heap overflow or infinite loop. In order to exploit this flaw, an attacker needs to be able to find a way to provoke the program into trying to make a buffer chunk larger than what will fit into a single size_t or off_t (CVE-2014-6272). Update: Packages for Mandriva Business Server 2 are now being provided. _______________________________________________________________________ References: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2014-6272 http://advisories.mageia.org/MGASA-2015-0009.html _______________________________________________________________________ Updated Packages: Mandriva Business Server 2/X86_64: c51132b310fb74179927370b6b82ec0c mbs2/x86_64/lib64event5-2.0.21-6.1.mbs2.x86_64.rpm d14d946ff417ba2f4564473b2c0d7094 mbs2/x86_64/lib64event-devel-2.0.21-6.1.mbs2.x86_64.rpm ed0c011d6883d2d3aef40acab4282264 mbs2/SRPMS/libevent-2.0.21-6.1.mbs2.src.rpm _______________________________________________________________________ To upgrade automatically use MandrivaUpdate or urpmi.
