The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in the "send_to_sourcefire()" function in manage_sql.c while processing OMP (OpenVAS Management Protocol) requests and can be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary shell commands via a specially crafted request sent to a Sourcefire Defense Center.
