The vulnerability is caused due to an indexing error in the "ShowPropertiesDialog()" method (ChartFX.ClientServer.Core.dll) of the ChartFX ActiveX Control. This can be exploited to write a single byte value to an arbitrary memory location via the "pageNumber" parameter. Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability is confirmed in the following products (other versions may also be affected): * CYME version 5.0.12.663. * ChartFX Client Server ActiveX Control version 6.2.2421.25134. SOLUTION: No official solution is currently available. PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Francis Provencher via Secunia.
