This fixes multiple vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by malicious, local users in a guest virtual machine to gain escalated privileges, by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and gain escalated privileges, and by malicious people to cause a DoS and compromise a vulnerable system. For more information: SA46802 SA46803 SA47296 SA47472 SA47486 SA47488 1) An integer overflow error in the "oom_badness()" function (mm/oom_kill.c) can be exploited to prevent a certain process from getting terminated during OOM (Out Of Memory) condition handling and may terminate another process. 2) An error within the software interrupt handler when preemption is enabled can lead to CPU debug stack corruption and cause a kernel panic. SOLUTION: Updated packages are available via Red Hat Network.
