The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the Syslog service (nssyslogd.exe) when processing the PRIO field. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via an overly long message sent to UDP port 514. Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.
