The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the "SetDevNames()" method of the Formula One ActiveX control (TTF16.ocx). This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via an overly long string passed e.g. in the "DriverName" parameter. Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability is confirmed in version 11.1.2.1.0 (TTF16.ocx version 6.3.5.1). SOLUTION: Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
