In the Linux kernel before 5.3.9, there are multiple out-of-bounds write bugs that can be caused by a malicious USB device in the Linux kernel HID drivers, aka CID-d9d4b1e46d95. Ubuntu Security Notice 4226-1 - Michael Hanselmann discovered that the CIFS implementation in the Linux kernel did not sanitize paths returned by an SMB server. An attacker controlling an SMB server could use this to overwrite arbitrary files. It was discovered that a heap-based buffer overflow existed in the Marvell WiFi-Ex Driver for the Linux kernel. A physically proximate attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code. Various other issues were also addressed.
