Debian has issued an update for php5. This fixes a security issue and
some vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by malicious, local users
to perform certain actions with escalated privileges and by malicious
people to bypass certain security restrictions and cause a DoS

1) The security issue is caused due to a race condition within the
PHP cronjob, which can be exploited to delete arbitrary files via
symlink attacks.
SOLUTION:
Apply updated packages via the apt-get package manager.
