DESCRIPTION:
l3D has discovered a vulnerability in Microsoft Windows, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to Ipv4SetEchoRequestCreate() in
tcpip.sys not releasing a locked memory page before process
termination when being interrupted during creation of an echo
request. This can be exploited to trigger a bug-check that crashes
the system.
The vulnerability is confirmed in a fully patched versions of Windows
Vista Business SP1, Windows 7 Professional, and Windows Server 2008
Enterprise SP2.
SOLUTION:
