DESCRIPTION:
leinakesi has discovered some vulnerabilities in Sysax Multi Server,
which can be exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable
system.
1) A boundary error when handling file retrieval requests can be
exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by sending a file
retrieval request with an overly long filename.
2) Boundary errors when processing open, make directory, or unlink
requests can be exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows by
sending specially crafted requests.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 5.25. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted users only.
