DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been discovered in Avaya CallPilot Unified
Messaging NMWebInst ActiveX control, which can be exploited by
malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to the NMWEBINST.NMWebInstCtrl.1
ActiveX control (nmwebinst.ocx) providing the insecure
"InstallFrom()" method. This can be exploited to download and install
an audio.exe executable containing arbitrary code by tricking a user
into visiting a malicious website.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.0.0.1. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Microsoft has set the kill-bit via MS10-034.
