DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in the NP_Gallery plugin
for Nucleus, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct
SQL injection attacks and compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Input passed via the "DIR_NUCLEUS" parameter to
nucleus/plugins/NP_gallery.php is not properly verified before being
used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary
files from local or external resources.
Successful exploitation may require that "register_globals" is
enabled.
2) Input passed via the "id" parameter to index.php (if "action" is
set to "plugin", "name" is set to "gallery", and "type" is set to
"album" or "item) is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL
queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting
arbitrary SQL code.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 0.94. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and
verified. Use another plugin.
