DESCRIPTION:
Adam Zabrocki has reported a vulnerability in Apache, which can be
exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a vulnerable
system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an integer truncation error within
the "ap_proxy_send_fb()" function in src/modules/proxy/proxy_util.c,
which can be exploited to e.g. cause a heap-based buffer overflow.
Note: This only affects systems where the size of the "long" datatype
is bigger than than the size of the "int" datatype (e.g. on 64-bit
systems).
The vulnerability is reported in version 1.3.41. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.3.42.
