DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in GNU gzip, which can be exploited
by malicious people to potentially compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is cause due to an error within the "unlzw()"
function in unlzw.c, which can be exploited by tricking a user into
decompressing a specially crafted LZW compressed gzip archive.
Note: Reportedly, this only affects 64-bit systems.
The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 1.4.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 1.4.
