TITLE:
Blaze Apps Script Insertion and SQL Injection Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA38254
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/38254/
DESCRIPTION:
AmnPardaz Security Research Team has discovered some vulnerabilities
in Blaze Apps, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct
script insertion attacks and by malicious people to conduct SQL
injection attacks.
1) Input passed via the "uxQuickReplyTextBox" parameter to forum.aspx
(when "pid" is set to "for_post" and "topicid" is set) and via the
"uxTopicNameTextBox" parameter to forum.aspx (when "pid" is set to
"for_addtopic" and "forumid" is set) is not properly sanitised before
being displayed to the user. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary
HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser
session in context of an affected site when the malicious data is
being viewed.
2) Input passed via the "uxSearchTextBox" parameter to default.aspx
(when "pid" is set to "search") is not properly sanitised before
being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL
queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in Blaze Apps, Web Community
version 1.4.0.051909. Other versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
