TITLE:
LineWeb File Inclusion and Security Bypass

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA38105

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/38105/

DESCRIPTION:
Ignacio Garrido has discovered some vulnerabilities in LineWeb, which
can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information
and bypass certain security restrictions.

1) Input passed to the "op" parameter in index.php and
admin/index.php is not properly sanitised before being used to
include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from
local resources via directory traversal attacks and URL-encoded NULL
bytes.

Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is
disabled.

2) The application allows unrestricted access to the
admin/add_news.php, admin/delete_downloads.php, admin/edit_ads.php,
admin/edit_downloads.php, and admin/edit_news.php scripts. This can
be exploited to e.g. add new news articles, delete downloads, edit
ads, edit downloads, or edit news articles.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.0.5. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
Restrict access to the admin/add_news.php,
admin/delete_downloads.php, admin/edit_ads.php,
admin/edit_downloads.php, and admin/edit_news.php scripts (e.g. via
.htaccess).
