TITLE:
Proverbs Web Calendar SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting
Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA37960
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/37960/
DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Proverbs Web Calendar,
which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection
and cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Input passed via the "month" parameter to calendar.php is not
properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
NOTE: This can further be exploited to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks via SQL error messages.
2) Input passed via the "year" parameter to calendar.php is not
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.1.2a. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
