TITLE:
Saurus CMS File Inclusion Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA37828
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/37828/
DESCRIPTION:
cr4wl3r has discovered multiple vulnerabilities in Saurus CMS, which
can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable
system.
Input passed to the "class_path" parameter in
classes/excel/class.writeexcel_workbook.inc.php and in
classes/excel/class.writeexcel_worksheet.inc.php is not properly
verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to
include arbitrary files from local and remote resources.
Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in versions 4.6.2 and 4.6.4. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
Set "register_globals" to "Off".
