IBM AIX "qosmod" and "qoslist" Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in IBM AIX, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to potentially gain escalated
privileges.

1) An error in the "qosmod" program can be exploited to cause a
buffer overflow via an overly long argument.

2) An error in the "qoslist" program can be exploited to cause a
buffer overflow via an overly long argument.

The vulnerabilities are reported in IBM AIX 6.1.

SOLUTION:
Apply APARs IZ66917, IZ66918, IZ66966, and IZ66967 when available.

Restrict local access to trusted users only.
