DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Sun Solaris, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The vulnerabilities are caused due to errors in the ldap_cachemgr
daemon and can be exploited to crash the daemon, thus slowing the
LDAP name service requests as caching will not occur.
The vulnerabilities are reported in Solaris 8 for both the SPARC and
x86 platforms.
SOLUTION:
A final resolution is pending completion.
Restrict LDAP access to trusted users.
