DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in VMware Workstation,
which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable
system.

The vulnerabilities are caused due to multiple errors in vmnc.dll
when processing specially crafted AVI files and can be exploited to
cause heap-based buffer overflows.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in vmnc.dll version 5.5.9.5077.
Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Upgrade to the latest 6.x version.

Do not open untrusted AVI files.
