DESCRIPTION:
hkm has reported a vulnerability in multiple 2Wire Routers, which can
be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security
restrictions.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing
"CD35_SETUP_01_POST" "page" requests sent to the "xslt" script via
the web interface. This can be exploited to reset the web interface
password via an overly large "password1" parameter.
The vulnerability is reported in 2Wire 2071 Gateway, 2Wire 1800HW,
and 2Wire 1701HG.
SOLUTION:
Reportedly fixed in firmware version 5.29.135.5 and later.
