TITLE:
Miniweb Cross-Site Scripting and SQL Injection Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA36081
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/36081/
DESCRIPTION:
Moudi has discovered some vulnerabilities in Miniweb, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL
injection attacks.
1) Input passed via the URL to index.php, directory/index.php,
eventscalendar/index.php, faqmanager/index.php, forum/index.php,
myamazon/index.php, onlinestore/index.php, sitebuilder/index.php,
publisher/index.php, surveypro/index.php, jobboard/index.php,
mediaalbum/index.php, blogwriter/index.php, and
classifiedads/index.php is not properly sanitised before being
returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML
and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site.
2) Input passed to the "historymonth" and "historyyear" parameters in
publisher/index.php, and to the "campaign_id" parameter in
surveypro/index.php is not properly sanitised before being used in
SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by
injecting arbitrary SQL code.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in trial version 2.0 X9 (release
0726). Other versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a proxy.
