TITLE:
TrackMania United/Nations Forever Multiple Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA35989

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/35989/

DESCRIPTION:
Luigi Auriemma has reported some vulnerabilities in TrackMania, which
can be exploited by malicious users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service)
and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

1) An error in the in-game packet handling when parsing data blocks
can be exploited to exhaust available CPU resources by sending a
specially crafted packet containing a data block without a
terminating 0xFF marker.

2) An error in the in-game packet handling when allocating memory for
strings can be exploited to crash the process via a specially crafted
packet containing a string size field value greater than 0xFFFFFFEC
or alternatively greater than what can be allocated.

3) An integer overflow error in the in-game packet handling when
allocating memory for strings can be exploited to cause a heap-based
buffer overflow via a specially crafted packet containing a string
size field value between 0xFFFFFFFB and 0xFFFFFFFF.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 2.11.11. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Grant only trusted clients access to the game.
