TITLE:
phpDirectorySource SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA35941

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/35941/

DESCRIPTION:
Moudi has reported two vulnerabilities in phpDirectorySource, which
can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
and SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "st" parameter in search.php is not properly
sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to
manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation may require that "magic_quotes_gpc" is
disabled.

2) Input passed to the "st" parameter in search.php is not properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
