TITLE:
Tribiq CMS Cross-Site Scripting and Local File Inclusion

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA35535

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/35535/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Tribiq CMS, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks
or to disclose sensitive information.

1) Input passed via certain parameters to various files is not
properly verified before being used to include files. This can be
exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources via
directory traversal attacks.

Examples:
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribiq-CL-9000/includes/masthead.inc.php?template_path=[file]
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribiq-CL-9000/includes/nlarlist_content.inc.php?use_template_family=[file]
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribiq-CL-9000/includes/toppanel.inc.php?template_path=[file]
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribiq-CL-9000/includes/contact.inc.php?template_path=[file]

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled
and "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.

2) Input passed via certain parameters to various files is not
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.

Examples:
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribiq-CL-9000/includes/nlarlist_content.inc.php?use_template_family=[code]
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribiq-CL-9000/includes/contact.inc.php?errordisplay=[code]
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribiq-CL-9000/includes/contact.inc.php?errormessage=[code]
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribal-GPL-1066/includes/forum.inc.php?forum_summary[title]=[code]
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribal-GPL-1066/includes/forum.inc.php?forum_summary[threadlastpost]=[code]
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribal-GPL-1066/includes/forum.inc.php?forum_summary[replies]=[code]
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribal-GPL-1066/includes/forum.inc.php?forum_summary[threads]=[code]
http://[host]/templates/mytribiqsite/tribal-GPL-1066/includes/forum.inc.php?forum_summary[description]=[code]
http://[host]/tb/common/tb_foot.inc.php?tbFootNonStandardFooter=[code]

Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 5.0.12c. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and
verified.
