VMware Products Descheduled Time Accounting Driver Denial of Service

DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in VMware products, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error within the
VMware Descheduled Time Accounting driver and can be exploited to
cause a DoS.

Virtual machines are affected under the following conditions:
* The virtual machine is running a Windows operating system
* The VMware Descheduled Time Accounting driver is installed in the
virtual machine (not installed by default)
* The VMware Descheduled Time Accounting Service is not running in
the virtual machine

Please see vendor's advisory for a list of affected products and
versions.

NOTE: Virtual machines migrated from vulnerable releases are still
vulnerable if the above mentioned conditions are met, until the tools
are updated.

SOLUTION:
Update to a fixed version. Please see vendor advisory for additional
information regarding VMware Tools update requirements.

Workstation 6.5.x / 6.0.x:
Update to 6.5.2 build 156735 or later.

Player 2.5.x / 2.0.x:
Update to 2.5.2 build 156735 or later.

ACE 2.5.x / 2.0.x:
Update to 2.5.2 build 156735 or later.

Server 2.x:
Update to 2.0.1 build 156745 or later.

Server 1.x:
Update to 1.0.9 build 156507 or later.

Fusion 2.x:
Update to 2.0.2 build 147997 or later.

ESXi 3.5:
Apply ESXe350-200904402-T-BG.

ESX 3.5:
Apply ESX350-200904401-BG.

ESX 3.0.3:
Apply ESX303-200905401-SG.

ESX 3.0.2:
Apply ESX-1008420.
