TITLE:
Acute Control Panel File Inclusion and SQL Injection Vulnerabilities
SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA34485
VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/34485/
DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Acute Control Panel,
which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection
attacks or compromise a vulnerable system.
1) Input passed to the "theme_directory" parameter in
themes/container.php and themes/header.php is not properly verified
before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include
arbitrary files from local and remote resources.
2) Input passed via the "username" parameter in index.php is not
properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.0.0. Other versions
may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and
verified.
