DESCRIPTION:
Stack has discovered a vulnerability in MediaCoder, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when setting the
filename in the "Properties" dialog item. This can be exploited to
cause a stack-based buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a user into
opening a specially crafted "*.m3u" file containing an overly long
filename.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 0.6.1 build 4045 and is
also reported in the development version 0.6.2 build 4275. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Do not open untrusted playlist files.
