DESCRIPTION:
x0r has discovered a vulnerability in SilverNews, which can be
exploited by malicious users to disclose sensitive information.
Input passed to the "section" parameter in admin.php is not properly
sanitised before being used to include files. This can be exploited
to include arbitrary files from local resources via directory
traversal attacks.
Successful exploitation requires administrative access to the
application.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.0.4. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
Grant only trusted users administrative access to the application.
