SOFTWARE:

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in H2O-CMS, which can be
exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions
or by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable system.

1) A vulnerability is caused due to the application allowing access
to the admin interface by checking if specific cookies exist. This
can be exploited to gain administrative access to the application by
creating the cookies "admin" with the value "1", "id" with the value
"1" and "user" with the value "admin".

2) Input passed to the "site_title", "login_stat", "colour",
"menu_home", "user_menu_news_posting", "user_menu_news_manager",
"user_menu_messagebox", "news_posting_auto_approval", "bottom_text",
"db_name", "db_username", "db_password" and "db_server" parameters in
SaveConfig.php is not properly sanitised before being written to
includes/config.php. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP
code.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires administrative
privileges (see vulnerability #1).

These vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 3.4. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Ensure that proper access restrictions are implemented and that input
is properly sanitised.
