DESCRIPTION:
C1c4Tr1Z has reported some vulnerabilities in H-Sphere, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and
cross-site request forgery attacks.
1) Input passed to the "fn" parameter in actions.php (when "m" is set
to "dload"), "mask" in actions.php (when "m" is set to "search"), and
"tab" in actions.php (when "m" is set to "sysinfo") is not properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.
2) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP
requests without performing any validity checks to verify the
request. This can be exploited to e.g. delete files, create
directories, or create files with arbitrary content, by enticing a
logged-in user to visit a malicious site.
The vulnerabilities are reported in WebShell version 4.3.10. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a web proxy.
Do not browse untrusted websites while logged on to the application.
