DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Xen, which can be exploited by
malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or
potentially bypass certain security restrictions.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing the
"flask_op" hypercall. This can be exploited by DomU users to cause a
heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code with Dom0
privileges.
Successful exploitation requires that Xen is compiled with support
for the "XSM:FLASK" module.
The vulnerability is reported in version 3.3. Other versions may also
be affected.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the mercurial repository.
