DESCRIPTION:
Don has discovered two vulnerabilities in dotCMS, which can be
exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information.
Input passed via the "id" parameter to news/index.dot and
getting_started/macros/macros_detail.dot is not properly verified
before being used to read files. This can be exploited to read
arbitrary files from local resources via directory traversal
attacks.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.6.0.9 on Windows.
Other versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a proxy.
