DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in VMware Server, which can
be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges
or to cause a DoS (Denial of Service), and by malicious people to
bypass certain security restrictions.
1) An unspecified error in "authd" can be exploited to gain escalated
privileges by causing the "authd" process to connect to a named pipe
that is opened and controlled by a malicious, local user.
2) An unspecified error when handling insecurely created named pipe
objects can be exploited to gain escalated privileges or to cause a
DoS.
3) Two vulnerabilities are caused due to insecure file permissions on
the "config.ini" file, which can be exploited to e.g. gain escalated
privileges.
4) An error in "openssl" can potentially be exploited by malicious
people to bypass certain security restrictions.
