DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Sun Solaris, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).
The vulnerabilities are caused due to race condition errors within
the CPU Performance Counters (cpc(3CPC)) sub-system of the Solaris
kernel. These can be exploited to cause a system panic.
The vulnerabilities are reported in Solaris 10 for both the SPARC and
x86 platforms.
SOLUTION:
Apply patch.
