TITLE:

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:

CRITICAL:

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
OSSIM (Open Source Security Information Management) 0.x
http://secunia.com/product/2166/

DESCRIPTION:
Marcin Kopec has discovered some vulnerabilities in OSSIM, which can
be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks, and by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "dest" parameter in session/login.php is not
properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.

2) Input passed to the "dest" parameter in session/login.php is not
properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

NOTE: Other scripts may also be affected by similar vulnerabilities.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 0.9.9rc5. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Filter malicious characters and character sequences using a web
proxy.
