DESCRIPTION:
Luigi Auriemma has discovered a vulnerability in MaxDB, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in the
handling of certain DBM commands (e.g. "exec_sdbinfo") and can be
exploited to execute arbitrary commands on a vulnerable system by
e.g. sending a specially crafted packet to default port 7210/TCP.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 7.6.03.07 on Windows. Other
versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Restrict network access to the database service.
