DESCRIPTION:
MWR InfoSecurity has reported a vulnerability in Merak Mail Server,
which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script
insertion attacks.
Input passed via the email body is not properly sanitised before
being displayed. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and
script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site when a specially crafted email is opened.
The vulnerability is reported in Merak Mail Server version 8.9.1
(Windows) and 8.9.2 (Linux). Other versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Upgrade to IceWarp Merak Mail Server 9.0.0.
Do not open mails from untrusted sources.
