DESCRIPTION:
mu-b has discovered a vulnerability in dproxy-nexgen, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the
"dns_decode_reverse_name()" function in dns_decode.c and can be
exploited to cause a stack based buffer overflow via a specially
crafted packet sent to port 53.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in the latest available version
(2007-04-02). Other versions may also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Use the software only in a trusted network environment.
