TITLE:
Enthusiast Cross-Site Scripting and SQL Injection

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/23865/

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
Enthusiast 3.x
http://secunia.com/product/13303/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Enthusiast, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL
injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "cat" parameter in show_owned.php,
show_joined.php and potentially other files is not properly sanitised
before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate
SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

2) Input passed via HTTP GET in show_owned.php and show_joined.php is
not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's
browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 3.1. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
1) unsticky
2) An anonymous person
