DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in FreeBSD, which can be exploited
by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to a signedness error in the
"PT_LWPINFO" ptrace command and can be exploited to trigger a kernel
panic or potentially corrupt user-space memory.
The vulnerability is reported in version 6.0-RELEASE and does
reportedly not affect 6.1-RELEASE. Other versions may also be
affected.
SOLUTION:
Grant only trusted users access to affected systems.
